I always recommend an exterior oil, e.g.;

• Decking Oil
• Linseed Oil
• Teak Oil

These oils soak into the wood and keep it nourished. They also repel water to keep the piece healthy.

The sky is the limit. I have made pieces from 10ft angels to 3ft dodos and everything in-between.
